Farmed Fur
Rabbit (German Breed Rabbits)
Our items labeled as 'German Breed Rabbits' exclusively come from Germany. These furs are guaranteed to be from well-maintained conditions. We often know the breeders personally and purchase their furs. These breeders usually have only a few animals in so-called 'hobby breeding,' meaning the animals are properly cared for to ensure high-quality fur.
The bred rabbits are primarily used for meat production. The fur is just a byproduct that naturally occurs.
Only the best pelts can be further utilized or processed after the slaughter. If an animal has not been well kept, it may not be immediately apparent from the meat, but it becomes evident from the fur. We have high standards for fur quality and only purchase the best pelts for our fur blankets, fur pom poms, fur collars, fur jackets, and fur vests.
Since we receive the pelts directly, we can fully control the subsequent refinement process. That means we decide where the pelts are tanned/prepared and, if necessary, dyed. Our pelts are exclusively tanned or dyed in Europe, ensuring that no harmful substances are present in the finished product."
No China or Far East Products!
Often, you can find very cheap fur products made from rabbits, which almost always come from China. The living conditions for these animals are often very poor. Additionally, substances used for tanning and dyeing in China are still in use, even though they have been banned in Europe for a long time. That's why we do not process any fur products from China!"

ORYLAG rabbits (the most exquisite rabbits)::
ORYLAG rabbits originate from France. Their fur is silky soft and lightweight, with a very high hair density (8-10 thousand hairs per cm²). Only Chinchilla rabbits have a higher hair density, in my opinion. The leather is sturdy yet thin, elastic, and wonderfully lightweight. The story of ORYLAG rabbits is like a legend. Two researchers at the INRA Institute of Agricultural Research in France experimented with various crosses of Rex rabbits until they finally succeeded 15 years later. The ORYLAG rabbits had an incredibly soft fur. Some carefully selected farmers and rabbit breeders began breeding ORYLAG rabbits, turning the legendary fur into reality. ORYLAG rabbits are exclusively bred under license by the CEO (Orylag Breeders Cooperative) to ensure that only well-trained breeders are licensed to breed ORYLAG rabbits.
Our conclusion: Rabbit furs of all kinds can be traded and processed without hesitation. Rabbit furs are not produced by breeding rabbits specifically for their fur; they are a byproduct of the meat industry. Anyone who consumes meat can have no objection to a fur jacket, a fur pom-pom, or a cozy fur blanket made from rabbit fur. Not processing these furs would be wasteful, as it would result in rabbit fur breeders discarding the furs. This would be a conscious destruction of an excellent natural material.
Foxes (Wild Fur)
Farm-bred Foxes (Mutation Foxes)
Mutations can occur naturally or through breeding. Often, deviations from normal colorations can result in new colors that are then selectively bred. Controlled breeding from naturally occurring foxes such as Red Foxes, Silver Foxes, Arctic/White Foxes, and Blue Foxes has led to various mutations.
Over time, the following colors have emerged in foxes:
Blue Fox - Blue Shadow Fox - Blue Frost Fox - Shadow Blue Frost Fox - Arctic Marble Frost Fox - Safir Frost Fox - Amber Frost Fox - Golden Island Fox - Golden Island Shadow Fox - Fawn Light Fox - Arctic Golden Island Fox - Silver Fox - Gold Fox - Gold Cross Fox - Cross Fox - Smokey Fox - Fire Gold Fox - Platinum Fox - Platinum Gold Fox - Arctic Marble Fox - Sun Glo Fox - Arctic Marble Cross Fox
Here you can find a color chart of fox fur colors from SAGA - FUR Helsinki.
We exclusively process Scandinavian and North American farmed foxes from SAGA Fur, Kopenhagenfur and NAFA.
We do NOT process any goods from China! From Eastern Europe and Russia, we exclusively source wild fur (e.g. Russian sable). However, we do not purchase farmed fur from these regions as we are not convinced of the animal welfare conditions, and largely reject them. Unfortunately, such products are still offered in Europe as they are often much cheaper to acquire.
